Us Firms Investing In Innovation And New Technology Prompts Expansion For British Company nu Angle

‘Innovate or die’ is the hard reality and one that progressive US corporations are taking seriously. In response to strong demand in the US for its technology strategy and roadmapping tools, British company nu Angle has established a Pittsburgh-based company to support its growing client base.

Peter Allen, co-Founder of the British technology innovation and management company, nu Angle, which is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, says: “Making the right decisions about where to innovate and what technologies to invest in can be challenging. What we are seeing is an increasing demand from executive teams for new tools to help them decide where best to invest their R&D dollars at a time of hard-pressed budgets.”

Over the last decade, the founders of nu Angle have developed improved processes for technology strategy, technology road mapping and growth platforms. This knowledge has been captured within a set of tools that provide a much stronger connection between the commercial aims of the business and a broader set of technology solutions and innovations. The result is that management teams have access to the information they require to make sound investment decisions.

In the midst of broader economic pressures, US corporations are looking to innovation and technology as a means to grow.

Kraig McEwen, President, McKesson Automation comments: “We have recently invested in a growth strategy based on innovation and new technology. We are now in a much better position to focus our R&D investment in areas where it will have most impact for us; the improved alignment for the business as a whole has led to a strong and positive response from our customers and has provided a clear direction and motivation for our employees.

“Working with nu Angle to develop this growth strategy was particularly useful as they provided tools to help us articulate our growth goals, flexibility to work with our specific context and requirements, and an objectivity and challenge that helped us make choices that we could abide by. nu Angle have been operating within the Pittsburgh area for well over a decade and it is particularly pleasing to see them establish a local base of operations.”

Jeff Thompson, President Pittsburgh PDMA Chapter, agrees: “nu Angle has advised several of our members over the years and it is great to see them establish a local office. nu Angle’s blend of technology management and access to external technology content expertise is something that I believe will continue to benefit companies in and around Pittsburgh.” Pittsburgh is convenient for many important corporate locations on the East coast. nu Angle’s US client base has been growing over the last 5 years, the new company will be sharing office space with one of its strategic partners, Bally Design, as well as strengthening its marketing and delivery partnerships with ip Capital Group.

Randy Rossi, President, Bally Design Inc, a leading industrial and product design company comments: “Despite tough economic conditions, the search for sustainable growth through innovation is evident for many US corporations. There are many firms in this space but we found nu Angle to have the unique ability to develop robust strategies that connect with our work; integrating innovation, good design and user-centered product solutions that drive competitive advantage and ROI.

“They have a diverse mix of well-honed strategic tools, practical experience and access to a global network of technology experts to best fit a client’s particular situation. It’s never a “one-size-fits-all” and that’s what makes them successful.”

Peter Allen comments that the company’s international technology prospecting and roots in Cambridge UK are valued by its US clients. “We have established a global network of specialists with knowledge that is as diverse as ‘the science of bubbles’, ‘managing biofilms’, therapeutic delivery’, ‘smart materials for engineering design’, and ‘vitamin supplements’ through to’ alternative uses for copper’. Using our network of world-class experts enables us create implementable strategies based on high quality content”
